Académie Delecluse
This establishment was regarded as one of the more reactionary, cutting-edge ateliers in the French capital. It was located in the Rue Notre Dame des Champs in the art district of Montparnasse and was established towards the end of the 19th century by painter Auguste Joseph Delecluse (1855-1928). Its principal teachers included the founder, Georges Callot (1857-1903) and Paul Delance (1848-1924). By the early 20th century, this academy was diminishing as an influence but he did tutor some important British artists including Harold Harvey and Simon Elwes.
