Brook Street Art Gallery
As yet I know little about this London-based gallery which as its title suggests was located firstly at No. 20 and then from c. 1904 at 14 Brook Street in the heart of London's West End close to New Bond Street. It appears to have started in the first decade of the 20th century and was still operational in 1964 when Eileen Agar held a solo exhibition there. There are however a few catalogues in existence from the 1970's but the artists shown were of international stature and non-British. These included Picasso, Jean Arp, Alexander Calder, Erté and Janos Stryk.
Other British artists associated with the gallery include H. M. Bateman, Surrealist Emmy Bridgwater, Carruthers Gould, Mary Harrison, Claude Hayes, Talbot Kelly, Loxton Knight, Will Owen, Heath Robinson, George Sheringham, Walter Sickert and Tatton Winter.
