Bushey Museum and Art Gallery

The major part of this small but interesting museum concentrates on the collections and works and personal artefacts and ephemera relating to Hubert von Herkomer and his Bushey Art School. Also housed here is the Lucy Kemp-Welch Memorial Trust Collection, including many of important equestrian paintings. At the rear of the museum is located the Frobisher Studio once the working environment for Marguerite Frobisher a friend and pupil of Kemp-Welch. It now operates as an art teaching centre.

Bushey Museum was officially opened as a volunteer-run museum towards the end of 1993. Shortly before its opening, it was awarded a grant from the Gulbenkian Foundation for the best achievement by museums operating with limited resources.
