Queen's University, Belfast
The University's extensive permanent collection comprises gifts, bequests and purchases since the foundation of Queen's College in 1845. The wide range of works includes paintings, prints, works on paper, sculpture, furniture, metalwork, and silver. The Collection also comprises an impressive display of over fifty portraits in the Great Hall. Sitters range from previous Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors to noteworthy figures with a connection to the University including Seamus Heaney, Sir John Lavery, The Naughton Gallery within the University is an accredited museum, funded with a donation from Martin and Carmel Naughton in 2001.
