Rossendale Museum
This museum is also known as The Whitaker and has an art collection largely dating from the late nineteenth and early-mid twentieth century. It houses several portraits of local politicians, civic dignitaries and members of local families, largely commissioned from local artists as well as images of local landscape and topography. The collection which opened in 1904 is located in Whitaker Park, Rawtenstall and comprises in excess of 200 works. Artists represented include Isabel Rawsthorne, Maude Goodman, Vallance Richard Gregson, Alfred Augustus Glendening, Edward Hartley Mooney, Yeend King, Clarence Roe, Reuben Hunt and many more minor but nonetheless quality artists.
