Whitby Art Gallery
The Pannett Park grounds, museum and gallery were a gift of Whitby solicitor, Robert Pannett (1834-1920), to house his art collection. What he called the public museum is the art gallery, which opened in 1928, while the present museum is a separate but adjoining building which was a later addition. There is a selection of images of local places including a beautifully vibrant oil painting of Staithes Beck by Leeds artist Philip Naviasky and an exquisite watercolour by Arthur Rackham. Other artists represented include William Russell Flint, Robert Wells, Ernest Rigg, J.A Terry, Harold Todd, Lionel Crawshaw and Albert Pile.
The Fylingdales Group of Artists stage their annual exhibition in the gallery.
