Exeter University Fine Art Collection
This varied collection has more than 1,000 important artworks, including pictures and sculptures, which are scattered around the three main campuses. They have been acquired by purchase, donation, bequests and loans. The collection began in earnest in the late 1950's and within a decade had grown to include works by Patrick Heron, Harold Harvey, David Blackburn, Clifford Fishwick, Kurt Jackson, Ernest Pascoe and Barbara Jones. For obvious reasons, there is a strong emphasis on works by artists indigenous to or based in the South-West. An early donation was a complete set of plates of J. M. W. Turner’s Liber Studiorum.
