Glasgow Print Studio

Founded in 1972 as an artist-led initiative, GPS provides facilities and workshop space to artists using printmaking as their principal medium. It has now established itself as an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence in printmaking, promoting contemporary and innovative printmaking through exhibitions, learning and conservation. The studios, workshop, galleries and teaching areas are located in central Glasgow and have been attended by artists who include Barbara Rae, Ian McCulloch and Philip Reeves.

The Archive collection of of the GPS, includes works by national and internationally renowned artists. It has been built up since the organisation's inception and houses not only prints but plates, proofs, slides and photographs relating to printmaking in the west of Scotland. In 2009 the archive housed more than 1500 works by more than 300 artists. Those represented include John Bellany, Elizabeth Blackadder, John Byrne, Christine Borland, Eileen Cooper, Peter Howson, Kenny Hunter, Bruce McLean, John McLean and Adrian Wiszniewski.

The Glasgow Print Studio is a Scottish registered charity which is funded by Creative Scotland and supported by Glasgow City Council.
