Salford Art Club

The club was started in 1947 by Ernest Goodman initially meeting at his home. Six years later it held its first exhibition at Salford Museum and Art Gallery. The Club meets at the Art Gallery and holds life classes, portrait sittings and still life subjects plus various experienced demonstrators and speakers. Local talented artists past and present have become members and have exhibited their works. They include L.S. Lowry, Harold Riley, Edith Le Breton, Vera Lowe and Geoffrey Key who acted as President c. 2020
