Chesterfield School of Art
This establishment began life in 841 as the Chesterfield and Brampton Mechanics Institute. In 1877 it became known as Chesterfield School of Art and soon after as the Chesterfield and District School of Art and Crafts when it shared premises with the local grammar school. It was not until 1952 that it became known as Chesterfield College of Art and Design, and in 1984, a merger with Chesterfield College of Technology caused yet another name change to simply Chesterfield College.
