Hastings School of Art
Hasting School of Art was established c.1874 and moved into the building that housed the Brassey Institute of Arts and Sciences in Hastings. (The building now houses Hastings Library). Originally the reference library was on the ground floor with an assembly room on the first floor and space for a school of art and science provided on the upper floors. The School of Art is now in The Old Bakers Rock House, Hastings. Tutors at Hastings include John Scorror O'Connor and Michael Renton and artists who studied at Hastings include Anthony Gordon Dunigan, Harold Gilman, Vincent Lines, Cecil Walter Bacon and Edmund Sullivan.
