Hull College of Art
Hull School of Art and Design was established in 1861 and during its long history, it has changed names and locations. In 1930 the school became Hull College of Arts & Crafts a name it held for over 30 years when in 1962 the College was renamed the Regional College of Art and Design. It was later renamed as the University of Humberside and entered into a coalition with higher education institutions in Lincoln. The resulting University of Lincolnshire and Humberside came into being in 1996 and underwent yet a further name transformation in 2001 when it became the University of Lincoln. It has since been renamed as Hull School of Art and Design, which is now a part of Hull College. Its alumni and staff include Royal Academician artist and printmaker David Remfry, Harry Hudson Rodmell, war artist Leslie Cole, Frank Beanland, Sallis Benney and Albert Pountney.
