Reigate School of Art

The Redhill Technical Institute came into being in 1895 when it incorporated the little-known Redhill Art Classes In 1937 it was upgraded to a Technical College and the school of arts and crafts was relocated to nearby Reigate. The following year Redhill Art Classes became Reigate and School of Arts and Crafts. In 1983, Redhill Technical College and the Reigate and Redhill School of Arts and Crafts amalgamated and became known as the East Surrey College. Furthermore, in 2002 the School of Arts and Crafts relocated from Reigate to a new building on the main East Surrey College campus in Redhill. It was renamed Reigate School of Art, Design and Media and in 2010 a new state-of-the-art East Surrey College building was completed. In 2015 the Reigate School of Art, Design and Media became Reigate School of Art and in 2019 East Surrey College, incorporating Reigate School of Art, formally merged with John Ruskin College to form the College Group known as the Orbital South Colleges.
