Robert Gordon University
The vast majority of the collection was originally part of the Gray's School of Art collection which was established in 1885. During the early years of the 20th century Grays was a catalyst in the formation of Robert Gordon’s Institute of Technology which ultimately became the Robert Gordon University.
The collection is made up of more than 4,000 items including the works of both students and staff and its exponential growth by the late 1990's pushed the University powers that be into forming a museum collection. By 2009 it had been awarded full museum accreditation. Artists represented include Sean Ambrose, Anna Shirron, Callum Innes, Alexander Fraser, Ian Fleming, William Hunter Littlejohn, Robert Sivell and Alberto Morrocco.
