Southend School of Art
The School was founded in 1899 and named the Junior Day Technical School when its teaching included commercial and industrial skills like plumbing. In 1991 it became the South-East Essex College of Arts and Technology (SEECAT). In 2004, the college moved to a new campus in the centre of Southend, close to main public transport routes including the mainline railway station. In 2010 the college merged with Thurrock and Basildon College and renamed South Essex College.
Alumni and staff included William Washington and Anthony Oldfield.
